Boots, Chad Nathan
Chad Nathan Boots, 36, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Visitation will be an hour before services. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Chad was born Jan. 3, 1974, in Iowa City, the son of Lynn and Lynne (Mullin) Boots. He attended Prairie High School, playing baseball and football. He married Traci Shimek on Sept. 16, 1995, in Cedar Rapids. Chad loved hunting, fishing, playing softball and being with friends and family.
Chad is survived by his wife, Traci; his children, Jacob Shimek and Korey Boots; his mother, Lynne Mullin of Cedar Rapids; stepfather, Jack Baych of New Albin; brothers, Josh (Amanda) Baych, Jeff (Liz) Baych and Michael (Eleisha) Baych, all of Cedar Rapids; his maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Jones of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Bueta and Darwin Whitney; maternal grandfather, Gerald Mullin; stepgrandparents, Irene and John Baych and William Jones; and his beloved dog, Alex.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family at 1206 15th St. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
