Boots, Bionda
Bionda Boots, 81, formerly of Monticello, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Cynthia, in Vancouver, Wash. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Lowell Klinefelter will officiate at the services. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Surviving are five children, Linda Morton, Cedar Rapids, Robert (Kathy) Boots, Monticello, John (Rhonda) Boots, St. James, Mo., Cynthia (Paul) Reetz, Vancouver, Wash., and Carla Henning, Dubuque; two brothers, Rhine Topping, Anamosa, and Edwin Topping, Hiawatha; four sisters, Bessy (Junior) Hartwig, Mount Vernon, June (LaVern) Ulferts, Anamosa, Erna Mae (Lloyd) Young, Lebanon, Mo., and Zelda (Ani) Adar, Las Vegas, Nev.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; and an infant son, little Earl.
Bionda Estella Topping was born April 6, 1929, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Schoon) Topping. She received her education in the Anamosa area schools. Bionda married Earl Boots on July 3, 1947, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was employed at the canning factory and the button factory in Monticello. Earl preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1996. Bionda then went to live with her daughter in Oregon and later in Washington state.
