Marsh, Leo John
Leo John Marsh, 91, of Marion, formerly of Evansdale, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion.
Leo was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the son of John C. and Albertina (Mixdorf) Marsh. He married Ruth E. Toothman on Jan. 21, 1943, in Waterloo. She preceded him in death in March 2002. Leo served in the United States Army during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in January 1946. He was a delivery truck driver for Hoxie Fruit Co., Klawitter Distributing Co., Young Lumber in Waterloo and then was employed by Grunewald & Adams Jewelry in Arizona.
Leo was a devoted husband and family man.
Survivors include his children, Barbara Crabtree of Tucson, Ariz., Ken (Kathi) Marsh of Cedar Falls, Elaine (Randy) Winberg of Urbana and L.J. Marsh of Oakdale, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Marsh of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, John J. (Roselee) Marsh of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, William P. Marsh; five brothers and one sister.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or Hospice Compassus.

A special thank you to Willow Gardens, not just for taking such good care of Leo, but also for being such good friends. And also to the girls at Hospice Compassus for their compassion and caring over the last two and 1/2 months.
