Janet Evonne Widener, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, surrounded by family at her home. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Janet was born Sept. 12, 1951, the daughter of Jack and Dolly (Waalk) Draker in Cedar Falls. She was married to Charles E. Widener on May 22, 1982. He passed away in 2001.
Janet greatly enjoyed the outdoors. She liked to fish and spend time in her garden. Janet worked various jobs, but recently she worked for U.S. Cellular. She loved to spend time with her family, friends and pets.
She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her two children, Max (Janet) Hubbard and Abby (Ryan) Reid; two grandchildren, Kalli Hubbard and Lennon Reid; two sisters, Jolene Kacere and Jackie (Mike) Bailey; brother, David (Julie) Draker; special friend, Ken Kistner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and birth father, Duane Rinker.
A memorial fund has been established.
