KENNETH STENERSON
Cedar Rapids
Kenneth "Ken" Stenerson, 65, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Marion and Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, in Albuquerque. A celebration of Ken's life
will be at a later date in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Minninger) Stenerson, Albuquerque; a daughter, Alicia (Ben) Loomis, Seattle, Wash.; and a brother, Lloyd (Linda) Stenerson, Allen, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his loving guardians, Ruben and Edna Stenerson.
Ken was born Nov. 16, 1949, in Denver, Colo. He was raised in Marion, graduating from Marion High School class of '67.
Ken had the honor of serving with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. On Sept. 5, 1969, he married Nancy Minninger, and on March 30, 1979, they welcomed home their baby girl, Alicia. The family left Cedar Rapids, moving to New Mexico in 1995.
Enjoying the outdoors, golf became a favored pasttime, along with landscaping his yard. Ken was an avid sports fan, winning his fantasy football league three years running. From afar he had still rooted for Hawkeye football and secretly hoped the song sung following Iowa victories was not really true.
With heavy hearts his family says goodbye to a beloved husband, daddy and brother.
