Michael C. "Mike" Davis, 58, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., in Vinton. Visitation will be held from
9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mike was born on Jan. 10, 1962, in Waterloo, the son of Earl and Beverly (Jochumsen) Davis and graduated from Hudson High School, with the Class of 1981. On June 11, 1982, he was united in marriage to Melissa Wenner at the Vinton Presbyterian Church.
Mike had worked for J.B. Hunt as a driver and more recently as a trailer tech. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and telling stories. He was truly "all about" his family. Spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities was his greatest joy.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Davis of Vinton; children, Holly (Adam) Greif of Coggon and Tyler Davis of Vinton; three grandchildren, Cody, Abbe and Ethan Greif; four siblings, Susan Lynn Davis of North Buena Vista, Jim (Sue) Davis of North Buena Vista, Peggy (Tanny) King of Garrison and Mary King of Hudson; and his uncle, Tony (Brenda) Jochumsen of Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paige Davis; and his parents.
