Kenneth "Ken" Martin Jr., 57, of Central City, passed away tragically Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, while on vacation in Puerto Rico.
A funeral service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids on Monday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m., with a Masonic service at 1 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Ken was born March 3, 1958, to Kenneth and Beverly (Newman) Martin in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After completing high school, Ken joined the Navy SEALs and lived in Puerto Rico for many years. After serving his country, he worked at Palmer-Johnson Yachts.
He was an active member of Solomons Lodge No. 1 while he lived in Savannah, Ga.
He loved his family very much.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Jessica Martin of California; his granddaughter, McKenna Martin; his fiancee, Robin Bertelli of Central City; his mother, Beverly Martin of Central City; his brother, Daniel (Pamala) Martin of Central City; his niece, Angela; his nephew, Adam; and many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ken Sr.; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
