Medulan, Kenneth Karl
Kenneth Karl Medulan, 52, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at his home from complications of diabetes. Memorial service: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. Leonard Ranson. Friends and family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and after on 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Ken's wishes were to be cremated.
Ken is survived by his brother, Terry (Patty) Medulan; and sister, Carolyn (Steve) LaBarge-Reilly, all of Cedar Rapids; and two nephews, Branden LaBarge and Arthur Holderness.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Velma; and niece and nephew Roghelle and Travis LaBarge.
Kenneth was born Jan. 27, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Albert and Velma Drake Medulan. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976. He received a BSME degree in 1980 from the University of Iowa. Ken worked at QCNPS CECO from 1981 to 1988, at DAEC and Alliant Energy from 1988 to 2010.
Ken loved photography, video and audio production, bicycling and Frisbee golf. He was a RAGBRAI rider from 1995 to 2001. Ken will be remembered as a loving brother, a true friend and loyal co-worker.
A memorial fund has been established.
