Mull, Kenneth Robert
Kenneth Robert Mull, 62, of 310 Fifth Ave. SE Apt. 580, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Grandview Health Care Center, Oelwein, following a short illness with cancer. Graveside services and inurnment: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Mary Beth Siemann. Teahen Funeral Home has the honor of caring for Kenneth and his family.
Kenneth is survived by two sisters, Rita (Don, Sr.) Brady and Mary Lint, and a brother, Tony (DeLinda), all of Cedar Rapids; 11 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and great-nephews; and sister-in-law, Faye Mull.
His parents, June (J.P.) and Veronica Mull, and brother, Don Mull, preceded Kenneth in death.
Kenneth Robert Mull was born February 1, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, son of June (J.P.) and Veronica McEachron Mull. He received his 30-year Anniversary Award from Options of Linn County where he worked as a crossing guard at St. Matthew Catholic School. He was featured on the cover of Neighbors Magazine and an article entitled “Doing It Right” about his years as a crossing guard.
Kenneth was a fan of Star Wars, Star Trek and the Harry Potter books. He enjoyed long walks from the northwest side of Cedar Rapids to Palo, coffee, eating at Bishops and Cooper's Mill, crossword puzzles, board games, cribbage and watching Wheel of Fortune. He had a great knowledge of facts. Kenneth loved to play with his nieces and nephews and will be remembered for being very friendly and always ready with a joke.
