Survivors include his daughter, Karen Rae Rainbolt of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Kathryn Sturm of Cedar Rapids; two brothers-in-law, Warren Klotzbach and Howard Klotzbach of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn; his brothers, Franklin and Wendell Rainbolt; a sister, Helen Stanek; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Jones and Arlene Shinn.
Kenneth was born Jan. 19, 1924, near Gilbert, Iowa, on the family farm. He was the son of Frank and Louise Rainbolt. He graduated from Gilbert High School in 1942. He married the love of his life, Kathryn Klotzbach, on Aug. 17, 1958, in Belmont, Wis.
Kenneth was the service manager at Goodyear for 37 1/2 years, retiring in 1981. He later worked at Rud Chain for 5 1/2 years as the parts manager. Kenneth's care for Kathryn during her 25 years with multiple sclerosis was endless, keeping her from going to a care center. After Kathryn passed, Kenneth and his daughter, Karen, enjoyed many antique stores and shows, watching NCAA basketball, several weekend trips visiting family and watching old TV mystery shows.
