Brown, Kenneth D.
Kenneth D. Brown, 79, of Toddville, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, conducted by the Rev. Mark Lofquist. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, and an hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, Alburnett.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Brown of Toddville; children, Martin Brown of Toddville, Charla Jean (John) of Cedar Rapids and Lon Brown of Marion; grandchildren, Sam, Candice, Adam, Lovena, Jessica, Jennifer, Ryan, Matt, Brent and Corey; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Rex Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenneth was born June 2, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, son of Fred and Samantha (Bowers) Brown. He married Charlotte Steadman on June 27, 1953. Kenneth was co-owner of Brown and Dyer Construction and also of Hawkeye Ready Mix. Kenneth was the owner of Bali Hai-Estates. He also was a cattle farmer for many years.
Kenneth enjoyed working, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and most of all spending time with family.
