Kenneth Wayne Hubbard, 79, passed away Aug. 13, 2014, following a brief
illness.
Kenneth was born Jan. 28, 1935, to Hoover and Margaret Hubbard in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from McKinley High School, where he also found the love of his life, Patricia. Ken and Patricia were married Sept. 11, 1954, in Cedar Rapids.
A Celebration of Life will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia (2011); son, Kevin (2012); and three brothers, Hoover, Lindy and Richard.
Surviving are four daughters, Pam (Larry) Cope of Marion, Peggy Hubbard of Cedar Rapids, Leslie (Steve) Hess of Cedar Rapids and Penny (Derek) Colton of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kerri, Sara, Beth, Kurtis, Jay, Keith, Natalie, Nikki, Erik, Kristie, Justin, Hannah, Mitchell, Mackenzie and Katelyn; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Kenneth worked for the Laborers Local 43 doing road construction until retiring in 1995. After retiring, Kenneth served as a crossing guard at Pierce Elementary for 15 years.
The family will host a reception following the ceremony at Eagle Ridge Community Center, Marion.
