Parrott, Kenneth J.
Kenneth J. Parrott, 79, of West Liberty, formerly of Iowa City, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's name to the Cedar County Animal Rescue.

Kenneth John Parrott was born March 18, 1931, son of Charles “Polly” Parrott Sr. and Anne Neumann. He graduated from Iowa City High and went on to serve in the U.S. Army before returning to Iowa City. Kenneth enjoyed time spent fishing and admiring antique cars. All who knew him also knew of his love for dogs. Ken spent many years driving trucks and other delivery vehicles, he retired from NCS after many years delivering a variety of goods to internal offices and buildings. Most of all, everyone who knew Kenneth will miss his kind and gentle personality who he shared with so many.
Kenneth will be deeply missed by his family which includes his daughters, Jeannette (Bob) Sass of West Liberty, and Eve (Stan) Klinkkammer of West Branch; grandchildren, David and Mike Sass and Ron Klinkkammer; great-grandchildren, Jason, Mya and Issak; brothers, Joseph, Donald and Leo; and sisters, Henriette Vandenburg and Ursula Teggatz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Susan Klinkkammer; brothers, Steven, Charles, Robert and Herman Parrott; and sisters, Anna Mary Parrott and Celeste Anderson.
