Pigman Sprint Triathlon Results

The annual Pigman Sprint Triathlon was held Sunday at Pleasant Creek State Park in Palo. The USA Triathlon sanctioned event drew more than 600 participants. The race including a .5K swim, 25K bike ride and a 5K run.
Prizes in the amount of $4,000 were awarded to winners. Devon Palmer, of Saint Paul, Minn., recorded the fastest time for males, completing the course in 1:02:47. Emily Shoopman of Bloomington, Ill., was the fastest female, recording a time of 1:10:10, finishing just ahead of Jennifer Garrison of Naperville, Ill., who came in at 1:10:30.
Toddville's Barry Breffle was the highest Eastern Iowa finisher, placing fifth overall in 1:08:04. Here are the complete results and the results from each division.
The Pigman Long Course Triathlon will be held August 22, also at Pleasant Creek State Park. The long course event consists of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike course and 13.1-mile run. More than $4,900 in prize money will be awarded for that competition.
