Reiss, Rosella K.

Rosella K. Reiss, 78, of Rosewood Estates, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 12, 1931 in Aberdine, S.D., daughter of Joseph and Philomena Gauer Markovetz.

She married Leo F. Reiss Aug. 28, 1954 in Waterloo. He died Dec. 16, 2009.

She was employed at Rath Packing Compnay for several years and later in the lunchroom of St. John's Catholic School.

Survivors include four sons: Louis (Virginia), Joseph (Shari) and Steven, all of Waterloo and Edward of Des Moines; six daughters, Mary Ohrt, Janet (Craig) Drewelow, Susanne (Tim) Schultz and Phyllis (Kevin) Foley, all of Waterloo, Katherine (Greg) Armstrong of Beaver Dam, Wis. and Barbara (Gary) Konicek of Rochester, Minn; 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her husband, a grandson, Dana; a son-in-law, Del Ohrt; her parents and a stepfather, Gus Ban.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial at 3 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.

Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagraty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4:30 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.

Memorials may be directed to Columbus High School or Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
