Jane Rice Hagge, 103, passed away in Hankinson, N.D., on Jan. 19, 2021.
Jane was born Oct. 21, 1917, the daughter of Ray and Fannie Dunlap. She lived most of her life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, attending Washington High School and Coe College. She was a lifelong, dedicated member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. Through her volunteerism, Jane helped make Cedar Rapids a great place to live.
She volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital and her P.E.O. chapter. Through her volunteer work with the YWCA, she helped establish the first women's shelter in Cedar Rapids. She was also a strong supporter of the Iowana Council of Campfire Girls.
Jane is survived by children, Joanne (Rod) Dunnick, Barbara Trom, Douglas (Laura Germaine) Rice, Nancy Woodley, Mary (Randy) Ketelsen and Tina (Steve) Pace; daughters-in-law, Ann Hagge and Judy Hagge; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great- great-grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Maurice Dunlap and Richard Dunlap; a sister, Anne Waite; husbands, John C. Rice and Arlo Hagge; and sons, David Hagge and John Hagge.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
