Keller, Betty Jane

Betty Jane Keller, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at her home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lowe Park in Marion. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Susie (Bob) Moran of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, David (Danean) Moran of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Julie (Mark) Shervheim of Naperville, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Betty was born on June 9, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Otto and Alta Lzicar. She married Walt Keller on Dec. 11, 1939, in Chicago. He died in 1994. Betty was a volunteer with the Junior League of Cedar Rapids, Colonial Dames, American Field Service and several school reading programs.

Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, decorating and especially the time she spent with her beloved family and friends.

Memorial donations may be given to the National Rivers Hall of Fame, 350 E. Third St., Dubuque, IA 52001; the Linn Community Food Bank, 310 Fifth St. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
