Doris L. Cammack, 90, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids. A funeral service celebrating Doris's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of
Memories, with the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Entombment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde; children, Jeffrey (Cindy) Corell of Vacaville, Calif., Patricia (Clyde) Berlinger of Buffalo, Wyo., Elizabeth (Bruce) Brown of Rhodes, Iowa, Charles (Beth) Corell of Fort Dodge and David (Tracy) Corell of Marion; sister, Marjorie Gibbs of Prescott, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Calvin and Perry Moore.
Doris Lucille Moore was born July 8, 1924, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Calvin and Bernice (Berger) Moore. After graduating from high school she worked at the Tama County Ration's board for two years. She then graduated from Coe College in 1948, with a degree in home economics. For two years, she taught at Blairstown Consolidated Schools and then substitute taught for many years in the Cedar Rapids Community school district. Doris married James Corell on July 21, 1949, and they later divorced in 1972. On May 16, 1975, she married Clyde Cammack at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she was new member secretary for two years.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to especially thank Cottage Grove Place staff for all their love and care they gave Doris.
