Rohlena, Angeline
Angeline Rohlena, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior before services Friday at Brosh Chapel.
Angeline was born July 31, 1919, in rural Johnson County near Solon, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Penaz) Netolicky. She was united in marriage to Charles Becicka, and to this union two children, Delores and Richard were born. Following Charles' death, she married Lester Rohlena on March 4, 1947, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She enjoyed baking many kolaches, going to bingo, attending polka dances and was proud of her Czech Heritage. She was a member of the Eagles and WFLA Lodge #262 for many years.
Angeline is survived by her son and his wife, Eldon and Carol Rohlena of Mexico, Mo.; her daughter, Delores Becicka of Cedar Rapids; three grandsons, Brian (Julie) Rohlena, Jeffrey Rohlena and Joseph (Erin) Rohlena; a great-grandson, Liam Rohlena; one brother-in-law and his wife, Elmer and Thelma Rohlena of Walford; and a brother, Robert (Agnes) Netolicky of Fairfax.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her son, Richard C. Becicka; and two brothers, Henry Netolicky and Leonard Netolicky.
