Clyde Cammack, 93, a resident of Cottage Grove Place, died there on Friday, July 6, 2018. Services with military rites at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment is at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from
5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Survivors include his stepchildren, David (Tracy) Corell of Marion, Jeffrey (Cindy) Corell of Vacaville, Calif., Charles (Beth) Corell of Fort Dodge, Patricia (Clyde) Berlinger of Buffalo, Wyo., and Elizabeth (Bruce) Brown of Rhodes; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and two brothers.
Clyde was born on Jan. 23, 1925, in Linn County, the son of Ray and Irene Simkin Cammack. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1947. Clyde was a mechanical engineer at Iowa Manufacturing and retired from there after 32 years of service.
He married Doris L. Corell on May 16, 1975, in Cedar Rapids. Doris passed away in 2015. Clyde was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Mariner-Marlin Association, a lifetime member of the American Legion and proudly served in the Navy during World War II.
