CAROL JEAN (VAN SCOY) TEPLY

Carol Jean (Van Scoy) Teply, 83, passed away Feb. 9, 2021, with her loving husband by her side in Arlington, Wash.
Carol was born Dec. 19, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Roy and Marie (Rissmiller) Van Scoy. Carol graduated in the last class to graduate from Wilson High School in 1957. It was there she met the love of her
life and soulmate, Dick. They were united in marriage on Jan. 18, 1958, in Norman, Okla.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Dick was enlisted in the Navy Air Force, so Carol "held the fort down" in many parts of the United States as Dick fulfilled his military commitment. After Dick retired from the Navy, he worked for Boeing, assessing what materials would be needed for repairs for planes that had crashed, which allowed them to travel to India, Austria, Thailand and China. Carol and Dick loved the outdoors and spent many happy fulfilling years ALWAYS TOGETHER hunting, fishing, traveling and camping in the Northwestern United States. Their love story and commitment to each other was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Carol is survived by her soulmate, Dick Teply; three sons, Stephen, Rick and James Teply; granddaughter, Amanda Teply, all of Arlington, Wash.; brother, Jim (Gail) Van Scoy of Sandy, Utah; sister-in-law, Betty Hass; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Judy Teply, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, Hunter, her German Short Hair Pointer.
Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave, Arlington, WA 98223, will be in charge of funeral arrangements. A private family service will be held at a later date.
