Bova, Justine L. Hildebrandt
LISBON - Justine L. Hildebrandt Bova, 75, of Lisbon, died in her home surrounded by her family, Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, from a courageous battle with lung cancer. Justine's Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Springville by the Rev. John Gossman. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. The burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Lisbon.
Surviving Justine are her children, Craig (Barb) Bova of Cedar Rapids and Lori Anderson (Mike Spain) of Marion; and four grandchildren, Katie Bova, Kelsey Bova, Ben Kistler and Erin Kistler. Also surviving are one sister, Arlene Orchowski; a foster brother, David (Sue) Zimmer; four sisters-in-law, Stella Bova, LaVonne Bova, Pat Hildebrandt and Joanie Bova; and many nephews and nieces.
Preceding Justine in death were her parents; foster parents, Mary and Ervin Zimmer; husband, Mike; brothers, Harvey, Johnny, Calvin, and Glenn; a sister, Muriel Carter; brothers-in-law, Robert “Popeye,” John “Chum,” Joe Bova and Darrell Clark; and sisters-in-law, Sue, Rose Bova and Netta Clark.
Justine was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Franklin Park, Ill., the daughter of John and Frieda (Dittman) Hildebrandt. She graduated from Leyden High School in Franklin Park. After graduating from high school, she worked for the Civil Service in Illinois. After moving to Lisbon, she worked for Iowa Electric Light and Power, Edinger's Ironworks, and Lloyd Table Co. followed by 28 years as secretary to the principal at Lisbon High School.
Justine was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Justine enjoyed bridge club, puzzles and, TAMA, TAMA, TAMA!!!
Justine loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Memorials in Justine's honor may be donated to Hospice of Mercy, c/o Mercy Foundation, 701 10th St. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
