WILLIAM K JORDAN
Apache Junction, Ariz.
William K Jordan of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Hiawatha, Iowa, died at age 89 of a heart attack at his home on Aug. 14, 2020. Arrangements for a memorial service are being made at the American Legion Hall in Hiawatha on April 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. to honor both William and Norma Jordan, who passed away five years previously.
William was born at home on Sept. 27, 1930, in Paris, Iowa, to Kenneth Jordan and Pearl Olive (Domer) Jordan. He graduated from Alburnett Community School in 1948. He then spent six years in the Army Ready Reserve from 1950 to 1956. William married Norma Jean Spragg on Dec. 1, 1950. William was a wonderful husband and father, raising four sons. He worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and retired after 35 years. Bill and Norma loved camping and traveling the country in their RV until finally settling in Apache Junction, Ariz., in 2012.
Bill is survived by three of his sons, Bill and Jane of Dacono, Colo., Douglas of Swansea, S.C., and David, also of Swansea, S.C.; and sister-in-law, Bernice (Peyton) Jordan. Phillip preceded him in death in 2015, approximately one month after his mother passed away. He had 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
