Robert "Bob" Edward Clymer, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Per his wishes, Robert will be cremated and a visitation will be held in his honor from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, Cedar Rapids.
Robert lived his life to the fullest up to his final days.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Ann; his daughters, Lisa Clymer, Erin Clymer and Chelsea (Joe) Seeley; and his brother, John Shock. He was the proud grandfather of four, Drew Clymer and Alexandra, Chase and Eve Seeley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Clymer and Kristine (Zacek) Shock; and a sister, Bernadine Kinnan.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, working crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. He was an avid reader and could answer virtually any trivia question, stating, "I read it somewhere."
Robert retired from Quaker Oats in 2001 where he worked in the shipping department. He spent his retirement traveling, taking numerous road trips across the United States with his wife and brothers and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to thank Unity Point Hospice for the outstanding support and loving care of Robert and his family.
