Hamed, LaVonna 'Bonnie'
LaVonna “Bonnie” Hamed, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment.
Survivors include five children, Sam (Diane) Hamed, Carolyn (Sherman) Brunssen, Richard (Margaret) Hamed, Sherry (Butch) of Krutzfield, and Donn “DC” Hamed; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Jerri) Starry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Abe; and a sister, Phylliss.
Bonnie was born March 7, 1928, the daughter of Malvern “MC” and Hilda (Glick) Starry, in Wyoming, Iowa. She married Abe Hamed on October 29, 1947. He died December 22, 2004.
A memorial fund has been established in Bonnie's memory.
