Myrnen "Mike" Billett, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 29, at 3 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Mike was born in Charles City, Iowa, on Oct. 31, 1934. He married (Margaret) Joan Meehan on April 4, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include three daughters, Kari Kruger of Marion, Julie Billett of Cedar Rapids and Cristie Shepperd and husband, Chris, of Plattsmouth, Neb.; and his grandchildren, Jordan and Derek Kruger and Nick, Mitch and Mikhail Shepperd.
Mike will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors for his generosity, kindness and silly sense of humor. He always will be known for his gardening, pie baking and donut deliveries.
Memorials may be sent to Prairie Woods, Oldorf Hospice House or the Hall Perrine Cancer Center.
