Schroeder, Lillian Vern
Funeral services for Lillian Vern Schroeder, 90, of Tipton, who died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at First United Church of Christ, Tipton, with the Rev. David Lorenzen officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Erik Vickers, Abigayle Vickers, Trey Lemburg, John Duwa, Craig Unruh and Ron Baxa. Honorary casket bearers are Tyler Schroeder, Madolynn Lemburg and Michael Rose.
Lillian was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Cedar County, Iowa, the daughter of William Carl and Linnie Wilhelmina (Brinkman) Dettman. She graduated from Tipton Community School and, on April 17, 1951, Lillian was united in marriage to Kenneth “Bud” William Schroeder in Davenport.
She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Loyal Order of the Moose and WOTM, receiving special recognition as “International Co-Worker of the Year.”
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Kathie (Richard) Vickers of Hogansville, Ga.; son, Rusty (Jody) Schroeder of Tipton; grandchildren, Tyler Schroeder, Madolynn Lemburg, Erik Vickers and Abigayle Vickers; one great-grandchild, Addi; sister, Shirley Hoffner of Clarence; sister-in-law, Irene Dettman of Tipton; and numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud on Sept. 28, 1997; sisters, Betty Feddersen, Alice Moore and Ruth Unruh; and brothers, Jim Dettman, Robert “Bob” Dettman and Earl Dettman.
