Connie L. Hartman, 72, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted the by Rev. Josh Rath. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home.
Survivors include her children, Robin (Barry) Michaelis of Kalona, Steven (Teresa) Thompson of Cedar Rapids, Melissa (Ron) Abernathy of Cedar Rapids and Rusty (Amber) Hartman of Anamosa; 12 grandchildren, Natalie, Adam, Katie, Monica, Joseph, Zachery, Daniel, Ryan, Sara, Lincoln, Kolten and Gage; four great-grandchildren, Eden, Gunner, Garrett and Lily; two sisters and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister.
Connie was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Ivan and Dorothy (Miller) Wagner. She was raised on the family farm in Wellman and attended Ocean Pacific Country School. Connie graduated from Wellman High School in 1960. She worked in manufacturing in Cedar Rapids and also at Heinz in Iowa City.
