DENNIS BOWER Anamosa Dennis Bower, 63, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at his home following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, with interment in Antioch Cemetery. The Rev. Mark McCoy will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Thoughts, memories and condolences may left at www.goettschonline.com. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Anamosa Public Library. Surviving are his wife, LuAnn; and his two sons, Jeremy (Laura) of Hanover Park, Ill., and Corey (Hang) of Houston, Texas. He was Gramps to Anna and Levi. He also is survived by a brother, Robert (Sandy) of St. Louis, Mo.; and his mother- and father-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Bieber of Anamosa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dennis Eric Bower was born Oct. 2, 1952, in Greenfield, Iowa. He graduated from Bridgewater- Fontanelle High School. He continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1975. Dennis and LuAnn Bieber were married Sept. 1, 1973, at the United Methodist Church, Anamosa. After college the couple returned to Anamosa and Denny worked for Ernie Buresh at Citizens Bank in Anamosa. He also worked for MorAmerica, Don Archer Accounting Services and Life Investors. In 1992, he purchased Don Archer's business and started Bower Dole and Riniker Accounting Services. Denny loved cars and shared that passion with his family. They belonged to and showed a 1970 Mustang in the Mustang Club of America. In later years he was into Mopar Cars and belonged to the Mighty Mississippi Mopar Club of Dubuque.
