The assets of Lattice Communications, a telecommunications equipment dealer, have been sold to Cellsite Solutions LLC of northeast Cedar Rapids.
Lattice Communications, formerly of Fairfax, billed itself as the nation's largest stocking dealer of new and refurbished telecommunications shelters, cabinets, generators, and towers. The company provided products and services to mid-market, top-tier telecommunications companies for 11 years.
In 2012, after staff numbers doubled and revenues tripled in a short period of time, Lattice completed an expansion project to support future development.
Lattice Communications was recognized in October 2014 by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance with a Bravo award as a successful homegrown business in the Corridor.
On July 1, 2014, Lattice Communications and its president, Bruce Leventhal, were sued in U.S. District Court for trademark infringement and 'cyber squatting” by Cellsite Solutions, a competitor that has been operating for about five years. The latter claimed that a web site (www.cellsitesolutions.com) similar to that of Cellsite Solutions (www.cellsitesolutionsllc.com) was automatically forwarding Internet inquiries to www.latticebiz.com, a web site owned by Lattice Communications.
U.S. District Judge Linda Reade ordered the lawsuit dismissed with prejudice in February 2015 after Cellsite Solutions dismissed its claims against Lattice and Leventhal.
