Moore, William K. 'Bill'
William K. “Bill” Moore, 79, of Marion, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at his home. Per Bill's wishes there will be no services at this time. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; a son, Larry Moore of Minnesota; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Broxey of Marion and Marcella Janssen of Kansas; a brother-in-law, George (Barb) Kopetsky of Marion; and a niece, Lori (Ron) Mohr of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Diane Moffett; and his sister, Virginia Lentner.
Bill was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Des Moines, the son of Kenneth W. and Frances (Coates) Moore. He graduated from Manly High School (Manly, Iowa) in 1948 and attended UCLA and Cedar Rapids Business College. On Feb. 12, 1950, Bill was united in marriage to Doris J. Kopetsky in Cedar Rapids. Bill worked in the accounting department at Penick and Ford. Then in 1952, Bill and Doris moved to Minneapolis, where he worked for Munsingwear. They returned to Iowa in 1999 following their retirement.
