Jensen, Sharon K.
Sharon K. Jensen, 59, of Mechanicsville, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Mercy, Iowa City. A celebration of her life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lahey Funeral Home, Olin. Burial will be in the Stanwood Cemetery, Stanwood, Iowa. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Sharon K. Simmons was born Aug. 10, 1950, in Davenport, Iowa, to Delbert M. and Mae (Barnes) Simmons. She attended beautician school.
She married William Jensen on July 11, 1970, in Olin, Iowa. She worked at Sheller-Globe, Iowa City, as a mold injector operator and at Mechanicsville Nursing Home for a year in housekeeping.
She liked to garden, bake and cook, make crafts and watch old movies. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and cat, Sassy.
She is survived by her husband, William Jensen of Mechanicsville; one daughter, Angela (Daniel) Entwisle of Olin; a son-in-law, Ron Hasselbusch of Clarence; six grandchildren; her cat, Sassy; two sisters, Karen (Larry) Gross of Marion, and Rosemary (Cliff) Mardorf of Monticello; one brother, Michael (Jeannie) Simmons of Marion; stepbrothers, Jim (Evelyn) Heinsius of Cedar Bluffs, and Chuck (Kathy) Heinsius of Marion; and a sister-in-law, Pat Simmons of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; a daughter, Tracy Hasselbusch on March 15, 2000; a brother, Richard on April 3, 1997; and a stepbrother, Tom in 1959.
