Jon R. Jensen, 54, of Marion, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, at his home after a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Survivors include his mother, Loretta of Marion; a sister, Joan (Gary) Dvorak of Vinton; two brothers, Jay (Lynn) of Cedar Rapids and Joel (Lori) of Franklin, Tenn.; and a sister-in-law, Jamie of DeKalb, Ill. He also is survived by 11 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; and a brother, James.
Jon was born Dec. 16, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ralph and Loretta Jaeger Jensen. He graduated from Regis High School and later attended Kirkwood Community College. Jon was a test technician at Rockwell for over 17 years.
He was a founding member of the Green Castle Appreciation Society. He enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing and astronomy.
Jon was a loving son, brother and uncle whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
