Rundall, Dolores Elodie
Dolores Elodie Rundall, 83, of Newhall, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Newhall, with Father Brian Dellaert as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 1, and one hour before services Monday at the church in Newhall. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Marengo.
Dolores was born Nov. 19, 1928, near Victor, Iowa, the daughter of Jerome and Margaret Van Steenhuyse. She was raised in Blairstown and graduated from Blairstown High School. On Feb. 4, 1948, Dolores was united in marriage with Frank “Owen” Rundall in Blairstown. The couple farmed near Vinton and eventually retired from farming in Newhall. Dolores also worked at J.C. Penney as a clerk for many years.
Dolores was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Newhall.
Dolores is survived by two sons, Rick (Suzanne Paisley) Rundall of Longmont, Colo., and Tim (PJ) Rundall of Urbandale; four grandchildren, Meggie and Matt Rundall, both of Denver, Colo., Shane (Alison) Rundall of Wilmette, Ill., and Sarah (Alex) Bridges of Cedar Falls; one stepgrandson, Jason Westergard of Minot, N.D.; one great-grandchild, Lily Hope Rundall of Wilmette, Ill.; and one brother, John (Pat) Van Steenhuyse of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Owen; and her brother and sister, Ronald and Arlene Van Steenhuyse.
A memorial fund has been established for Mercy Hospice, 5820 Winwood Dr., Johnston, IA 50131.
Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Dolores and her family.
