Andrle, Michael Andrew
Michael Andrew Andrle, 61, of Des Moines, formerly of Ely, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, following many weeks of hospice care at home. The family wishes to thank the caregivers who helped Michael remain at home. It was Michael's wish that his body be deeded to the medical program at the University of Iowa upon his death.
Michael's family will greet friends at a visitation to celebrate his life from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel, 2121 Bowling St. SW, in Cedar Rapids. A private gathering will be held with family and friends in Des Moines at a later date.

He was a machinist and welder during his working years and also farmed near Ely. He moved to Des Moines in 2006 to be closer to his children.
