Foster, Barbara E.
Barbara E. Foster, 85, of Manchester, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at the Regional Medical Center following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Manchester Gospel Hall. Family will greet friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, and one hour before services Wednesday at the Hall. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Barbara was born Aug. 4, 1924, the daughter of Tom and Amanda Welch. Barbara attended country school in Delaware County, and came to know the Lord at the age of 16. On June 27, 1945, Barbara was united in marriage to C.F. Foster at the Gospel Hall in Manchester. They lived all their lives in Manchester, where Barbara and C.F. did foster home care for many children too numerous to count.
Barbara is survived by her husband, C.F. Foster of Manchester; one daughter, Donna Jean (Ray) Snyder of Manchester; six sons, John (Linda) Foster, Tim (Joyce) Foster, all of Manchester, Scott (Tammy) Foster of Aurora, Ill., Denis (Sheryl) Foster of Marshalltown, Bill (Theresa) Foster of Columbus, Ohio, and Gerald Foster; two foster daughters, Alison (Gary) Schneider of Weslaco, Texas, and Juanita (Tracey) Smith of Kalispell, Mont.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don (Ruby) Welch, Doran (Beverly) Welch, and Tom (Dorothy) Welch; and one sister, Florence Hill.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Amanda Welch; and a brother-in-law, Earl Hill.
