Wilma Ethel (Fischer) Ralston of Beavercreak, Ohio, passed March 1, 2016, after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 8, 1921, to William and Katherine (Rumbolz) Fischer.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Randall Ralston, and adopted son, Garrison Seale, of Kettering, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Deborah (Phil) DuChamp; grandchildren, Brandon (Alison) Ralston and Brooke (Nick) Daniel; four great-grandchildren, Marshall, Wesley and Miles Daniel and Eliza Ralston; one brother-in-law, Lee Harrington of Chariton; two nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Opal Weidauer, Leola McKinely and Bethel Harrington; four brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
Wilma (Willy) graduated from LeMars, Iowa, High School in 1939. She ventured to Minneapolis to attend North Central Bible College from 1943 to 1946. She completed her higher education with a teaching degree from Westmar College. Before marrying she taught in a one-room rural school in Rock Valley, Iowa, and first grade in Vinton.
Marrying Ervil M. Ralston in 1955, they lived their lives together in Cedar Rapids. After the birth of their only child, Randall, in 1956, she did substitute teaching.
She was an active member of First Assembly of God Church, where she is remembered for her love for God and everyone she met.
She moved to Ohio in 2008 to be closer to Randy and his family. She'll be missed in Ohio and Iowa by family and friends and nearly everyone she met. Heaven has gained an amazing Angel.
A memorial service is being held in her honor at Brookdale Kettering assisted living in Dayton, Ohio, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19.
