Catherine Miller passed away in Phoenix, Ariz., on Oct. 26, 2011.
She was born in State Center, Iowa, the daughter of Hoyt and Mary Ann (Evans) Patton. Her husband, Keith C. Miller; parents; and brother, Dwight Patton, predeceased her.
She is survived by her children: Beverly Carr (John Klemmer), Phoenix; Robert K. Miller (Anne), Long Beach, Calif.; LeAnn Haley (Terry), Phoenix; and Michael P. Miller (Alison), Atlanta, Ga.; grandsons: Kieren Evensen, Minneapolis; Brett Michael Miller, Cedar Rapids; and Cole Robert Miller, Long Beach, Calif.; and her sister, Janet Brady (Tom) of Sioux Falls, S.D. Also surviving are nieces and nephews who will miss their loving aunt.
Catherine was active from childhood in the Presbyterian Church. She loved music and was the church organist for many years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, a lifelong Democrat, faithfully rooted for the Iowa Hawkeyes with her close friends, followed current events and did the crossword puzzles in the daily papers.
She was a tremendous role model for her family. She gave them a strong sense of integrity, honesty and ethics. Her inspiration will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Crosswinds Presbyterian Church, 20123 N. 15th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85027 on Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Iowa in the spring.
