Alison Lea McNamara, 41, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at her home. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom.
Alison was born May 28, 1977, the daughter of Thomas and Carol (Mowery) McNamara, in Cedar Rapids. She was very much an artist at heart, and had a great talent for making jewelry and painting. Alison also was excellent at baking and enjoyed making delicious treats for her family and friends.
Survivors include her mother, Carol McNamara; grandmother, Alma McNamara; significant other, Joseph Cooey; family members, Erin (Dave) McNamara-Ankney, Sara (Jim) Edge, Dylan (Meghan) McNamara, Seamus Edge, Madison (Ricky) House, Ian (Ella) Huff and Oliva Huff; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Leo Mowery and Dorothy Mowery; and paternal grandfather, Eugene McNamara.
