Bohnenkamp, Rose Marie
Rose Marie Bohnenkamp, 81, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at 11:45 p.m. at her home.
She was born June 9, 1931, in Keokuk, Iowa to Earl and Marie Mielke Schieferdecker. She worked in the kitchens at Hy-Vee and Aquinas School and retired from Lampe Drug Store. She was a member of St. Mary & Joseph Church, the Altar & Rosary and was an Eucharistic minister. She loved to play bridge and euchre and also enjoyed knitting and going on trips with the Lee County Bank Passport Club. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Rose is survived by two sons, Michael (Cheryl) Bohnenkamp of Woodward, Iowa and Neal Bohnenkamp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a daughter, Audrey (Mark) Graver of Lisbon, Iowa; five grandchildren, Andrew Bohnenkamp, Christina Atkins, Benjamin Atkins, Rachel and Sam Bohnenkamp; two stepgrandchildren, Nicole and Levi Graver; and a brother, Ivan (Laurin) Schieferdecker of Bowling Green, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore; and a son, Glenn Bohnenkamp.
Per her wishes, her body has been cremated by King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The memorial mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at St. Mary & Joseph Church, with the Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be held in Soldiers' Circle, Oakland Cemetery. The family invites all to a luncheon following the burial at McAleer Hall, across from St. Mary & Joseph Church.
A memorial has been established for Lee County Hospice or Holy Family Parish Altar & Rosary Society.
