Luella Lavonne Johnson, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, of a heart attack. Cremation has taken place. Private celebration of life will be held with the family.
Luella was born April 5, 1925, daughter of Walter and Esther (McCallson) Randall in Mable, Minn. She was married to Donald Johnson for 27 years; they later divorced.
Survivors include her children: son Neal Johnson and daughters Carroll St. John and Donna (Wayne) Miller; a sister, Judith Brown; brothers, Dennis Myron and Irvin (Molly) Myron; grandchildren, David Clark, Rob Merkel and Mark (Patricia) Merkel; great-grandson, Robert Merkel; and granddaughter, Devin Clark - all of whom were very special to her.
Luella spent her entire life taking care of her family. She taught her family to love and care for each other. She enjoyed embroidery work and she gave away many kitchen towels that she made.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister.
