Gene Andrew Spicer passed away Jan. 12, 2016.
Gene was born Sept. 24, 1928, to Ivan and Alta (Comp) Spicer. He married Betty JoAnn Randall in 1947 and they later divorced. In 1970, Gene married Kaylene Tumilty McNeal.
Gene had several odd jobs over the years and in the computer industry before his retirement. Gene kept busy after retirement, most recently as a lay pastor for area churches.
Survivors include his wife, Kaylene; a daughter, Linda (Doug) Fox; four sons, Ron (Brenda) Spicer, Dennis (Ariane) Spicer, Todd Spicer and Scott (Nadine) McNeal; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Presbyterian Church in Vinton, with the Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating. Visitation also will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Committal services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Spring Grove Cemetery in Covington.
