Anna Guthrie, 94, of Cedar Rapids, died at home on Saturday, March 1, 2014. There will be no services. Burial will be at a later date in Murray, Iowa. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Linda) Guthrie of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Bob (Viola) McNeal of Centerville and John (Glenda) McNeal Jr. of Murray; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Edrie McNeal of Des Moines and Lois McNeal of Denver, Colo.
Anna was born May 18, 1919, in Murray, Iowa, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Watkins) McNeal. On Aug. 2, 1938, she married Cecil W. Guthrie. He died in 1998. Anna was a homemaker, who enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also enjoyed taking fishing trips with friends and family, es-pecially to Minnesota.
Anna will be remembered for her love of gardening, canning and making quilts that she shared with her family. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carolyn Carlson; brothers, Roland McNeal, Harold (Mamie) McNeal, George McNeal, Don (Lucy) McNeal and Myron McNeal; and sisters, Marilyn McNeal and Dorothy (Bernard) Dinham.
