Anderson, Earl A.
Earl A. Anderson, 83, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. At Earl's request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hiawatha Community Center, 101 Emmons St.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Anderson; children, Everett (Butch), David and Penny Anderson; a sister, Doris Allen; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and beloved pup, BJ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven; and siblings, Betty Herb, Norbert, Donnie, Clara Mae and Nancy Ann Anderson.
Earl was born on April 3, 1928, in Chester, Iowa, the son of Frank and Elanora (Boehmer) Anderson. Earl was retired from Longview Fibre in Cedar Rapids.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to thank Earl's hospice nurse, Carol; and the staff at the Mercy Hospice House. A special thank you to Dr. Jolynn Glanzer for the many years of care provided. And a heartfelt thank you to all of the people involved in Earl's care.
