Anderson, Frances L.
Frances L. Anderson, 93, of Independence, died Saturday evening, April 2, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
Frances was born Oct. 10, 1917, near Brandon, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Sullivan) Schultz. She graduated from Brandon High School and on Jan. 6, 1944, she was married to Donald L. Anderson. The couple made their home in Independence, where she and her husband owned and operated the Anderson Plumbing Co.
Frances is survived by five children, Mary (Bob) Black of Morrison, Ill., Richard (Sheri) Anderson, Bill Anderson of Salix, Jim (Linda) Anderson and Chris (Paula) Anderson all of Independence; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Kissling of Oregon, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1984; one sister, Betty Wilson; and three brothers, Leonard, Wallace and Robert Schultz.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with the Rev. Bill Black officiating. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
