Anderson, Elma E.
Elma E. Anderson, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Ave. NW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to
6 p.m. today at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Elma was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Ely, the daughter of Louis and Emma Modracek. She married Vernon Russell Anderson on Nov. 11, 1950, in Morrison, Ill. She worked at Wilsons and Killians in her early years and later stayed home and raised her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking kolaches, and tending to her garden and flowers. Elma loved spending time with her family especially the grandkids.
Elma is survived by her sons, Randy (LouAnn) Anderson and Steve (Barb) Anderson; two grandchildren, Tim Anderson and Heather Anderson, all of Cedar Rapids.
Elma is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Vernon Anderson.
