Anderson, Rev. Theodore (Ted) LeRoy
The Rev. Theodore (Ted) LeRoy Anderson, 89, resident of Lantern Park Nursing Center, Coralville, died there April 26, 2013. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Iowa City.
Ted was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Kearney, Neb., to Pastor Carl and Beda Anderson. Ted was an Army sergeant during World War II. Ted was pastor at Immanuel Lutheran, Clinton, for 30 years and at Bethany Lutheran, Des Moines, for four years, retiring in 1986 to Iowa City.
Ted and Lorraine Braaten married in 1950 and they divorced in 1981. Lorraine died in 1987. Ted married Elizabeth (Betty) Hibbeler in 1987. Betty died in 2013.
Ted is survived by daughter, Meredith Anderson; sons, Neil (Denise) Anderson and Kurt Anderson; granddaughter, Marike Anderson-Dam; grandsons, Evan Anderson, Case Anderson-Dam and John (Jen) Anderson-Dam; and Betty's children, Stephen Hibbeler, Ruth Thomas, Margaret Hibbeler and Deborah White.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lutheran Services in Iowa, or Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.
