Michael J. Frese, 43, of rural Oxford, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Mercy Iowa City following his courageous fight against cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford, with visitation from 9 a.m. until services at the church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Oxford.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mike's memory.

Michael James Frese was born April 2, 1971, in Oxford, the son of Charles and Elayne (Kinney) Frese. He attended Clear Creek Schools, graduating with the class of 1989. During his high school days he participated in football and wrestling. During his youth he enjoyed showing horses. Mike had an extreme passion for anything with a motor, especially cars. Mike was an avid follower of NASCAR motorsports.
His family includes his parents, Charles and Elayne Frese of Oxford; sister, Christina Frese of Iowa City; brother and his wife, Curtis and Steph Frese of Des Moines; and a niece, Emma Frese. A number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also will miss Mike dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ivan and Isabel Frese and Joe and Sylvia Kinney; and a cousin, Paula Dunshee.
