Rosella Rhoda, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at West Ridge Care Center. Service: 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, at First Church of the Open Bible, 1911 E Ave., Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
Rosella was born Oct. 29, 1925, the daughter of Edmond and Edith (Harrison) Wyatt. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1943. On Oct. 7, 1958, Rosella and Henry Rhoda were united in marriage. She worked at Wilson Packing as well as at the Cedar Rapids Twin Drive-in. Rosella was a faithful member of the First Church of the Open Bible. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and knitting. Rosella loved to volunteer, spending time at the VA Hospital in Iowa City and the church's food pantry and tape room.
Rosella is survived by her son, William (Joyce) Ostrander of Des Moines; grandchildren, Russtin and Jordan Ostrander, Jennifer (Travis) Losenicky and Felicia (Chad) Galli; and brother, Danny (Marlene) Glandon of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Rhoda; parents, Edmond and Edith; son, James, and his wife, Sue Hill; sister, Mabel Ruggles; and brothers, Ray and Milo Wyatt and Tom, Joe and James Glandon.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at West Ridge Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Church of the Open Bible's food pantry in Rosella's memory.
