Arlene Mae (Lassen) Schlotfelt, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at her home following a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Joe Kane. Burial: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may visit with the family after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Arlene is survived by her son, Bryan (Elizabeth Cwik) of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Janeen (Mike) Schultz of Fairbault, Minn.; five grandchildren, John (Gina), Ben, Caitlin, Derek and Daniel (Priscilla); and brother, Merlin (Gerene) Lassen of Dysart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents; and sister, Lois Klink.
Arlene was born on Sept. 16, 1928, in Benton County, the daughter of Severt and Margaret Gill Lassen. She married Roger Schlotfelt on April 19, 1950, in La Porte City. She worked at the Teamsters Credit Union for 30 years before retiring in 1991.
Arlene loved to quilt and was a strong musician and piano player.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
